The Method

The Method

Pause. Reset. Reclaim.

My methodology, and the framework within which all of my work is held.

People do not simply become overwhelmed because they have too much to do.

They become disconnected from themselves through years of automatic adaptation to expectations, roles, responsibilities, culture, and survival. The tools that carry people through the earlier parts of their lives are often not enough for what comes next.

The Framework

Three premises

01

The nervous system needs to be regulated before the deeper work is possible.

02

The stories we have been living inside need to be examined before we can choose differently.

03

Role shifts, identity questions, and grief need to be met with compassion and curiosity rather than managed, outpaced, or endured.

How it works

Pause

Interrupting autopilot

Pausing creates the space to notice.

Learning to recognize the moment before reactivity takes over, we develop the capacity to choose a response. That capacity, the pause between what we feel and how we respond, is the foundation on which everything else is built.

Reset

Where most of the work lives

Identity, role collision, values, and the stories we have been living inside.

This is the work that requires steadiness to hold, which is why it comes after the first skill rather than before it.

Who have you been, and for whom?

Whose voice has been directing your choices?

Does your life reflect what you actually value?

Reclaim

Intentional living

When we understand how we got here, we can choose how we show up to what is in front of us.

Choices come from actual values rather than from habit, duty, or the fear of getting it wrong. The work does not change the circumstances of a life. It changes how a person meets and responds to them.

These skills are not learned and filed.

They are the framework of a practice you return to, in a charged interaction or major life transition, in a boardroom or at your kitchen table. They build mindfulness, presence, and intention toward what is in front of you. The everyday moments are what make up a life. Applied routinely, Pause. Reset. Reclaim. shapes a lifespan.

What becomes possible

What changes is your relationship to all of it

You recognize when your nervous system is firing and choose what happens next before it costs you a moment you cannot get back.

You understand the stories you have been living inside, where they came from, and which ones you are ready to revise.

Your life reflects what you actually value.

You will not be performing steadiness. You will have it.

Pause. Reset. Reclaim. belongs to anyone doing the serious work of living intentionally.

The framework is the constant. The audience is the variable. It is what shapes my work as a speaker, a facilitator, and a clinician.

Live Group Program

Midlife Mothers: Pause. Reset. Reclaim.

You are carrying more than you can name. Twelve weeks of live, clinically grounded support for mothers ready to stop reacting and start choosing.

One to one, by conversation

Individual work

The same method, applied privately with a small number of individuals, women and men. It is arranged by conversation, and availability is limited.

Organizations

For teams and communities, I bring practical tools and clinical frameworks for stress, reactivity, and the roles people carry. Audiences gain insight into the stories and patterns shaping relationships, culture, and personal performance.

Who I Am

I am Maris Pasquale Doran, LCSW, a psychotherapist with twenty years of experience working with people through the most complex transitions of their lives. I trained at Columbia University, where I later returned to teach. This work is not theoretical for me. I have sat with my own grief, felt my nervous system reach its limit, and done this work myself, not just held space for others doing it.

Clinical depth. Real life application.
